The Seeds of Forgiveness

When Jonah struggles to forgive, his grandfather shows him how forgiveness grows like flowers. Through Jesus’s words, he learns that love blossoms when we let go.

The Seeds of Forgiveness

(Based on the Gospel of Jesus – Matthew 18:21–22)

In a sunny village surrounded by gardens, a boy named Jonah loved planting seeds. One day, his little sister Emma broke his favorite toy.

Angry, Jonah said, “I’ll never forgive you!”

His grandfather gently took Jonah to the garden and handed him a packet of tiny seeds.

“Each seed is like forgiveness,” he said. “Plant them, and you’ll see what grows.”

Jonah scattered the seeds, watered them, and waited. Days passed, and tiny green shoots appeared. As the flowers bloomed, so did Jonah’s heart.

He hugged Emma and whispered, “I forgive you.” She smiled and gave him a new drawing of the toy she had broken.

That night, Grandpa told him Jesus once said to forgive not just once—but many times. “Because love keeps growing when we forgive.”

Lesson: Forgiveness helps our hearts grow—just like seeds in a garden.
