The Picnic with Five Loaves

Micah shares his simple lunch and watches Jesus turn it into a miracle. Through his generosity, he learns that kindness and faith multiply more than food.

The Picnic with Five Loaves

(Based on the Gospel of Jesus – John 6:1–14)

In a grassy field by a sparkling lake, a boy named Micah sat with his mom for a picnic. He had five small loaves of bread and two fish, just enough for the two of them.

Suddenly, a large crowd gathered to hear a gentle teacher named Jesus speak. As the sun rose higher, the people grew hungry—but no one had enough food.

Micah looked at his lunch, then at the crowd. “You can have mine,” he said, offering his basket to one of Jesus’s helpers.

Jesus lifted the basket, gave thanks, and began passing the food. To Micah’s amazement, it never ran out! Everyone ate until they were full—and there were baskets of leftovers.

Micah smiled, knowing his small gift had become part of something miraculous.

Lesson: Even the smallest gift can become something great when shared with love and faith.
