The Fisherman’s Surprise

When little Eli helps his father fish, Jesus turns a hard day into a miracle. Through faith and listening, Eli learns what it means to truly follow.

The Fisherman’s Surprise

(Based on the Gospel of Jesus – Luke 5:1–11)

Little Eli loved helping his father, a kind fisherman, on the peaceful lake. But one morning, no matter how hard they tried, their nets came up empty.

As the sun rose higher, a gentle man named Jesus appeared by the shore. “Try once more,” He said, pointing to deeper water.

Though tired, Eli and his father obeyed—and suddenly, their nets overflowed with fish! They gasped in awe as Jesus smiled.

Back on land, Jesus said, “From now on, you’ll fish for people.”

Eli’s eyes sparkled. He didn’t know exactly what that meant—but he knew he wanted to follow.

Lesson: When we listen to Jesus and trust His words, amazing things can happen.
