Sammy and the Mustard Seed

Sammy learns from a tiny seed that big things grow from small beginnings. Through Jesus’s words, he discovers that faith and kindness make a big difference.

Sammy and the Mustard Seed

(Based on the Gospel of Jesus – Matthew 13:31–32)

In a little town, Sammy was the smallest kid in class and often felt too tiny to do anything important. One day, his teacher gave each student a mustard seed and shared Jesus’s words:

“The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed… the smallest of all, but it grows into the largest tree.”

Sammy planted his seed in a small pot by the window. Every day, he watered it, spoke kind words to it, and watched the tiniest green sprout appear.

Weeks later, a tall plant stood proud, with butterflies landing on its leaves and bees buzzing happily. Sammy realized that little things—like kindness, faith, and effort—grow big over time.

He smiled and whispered, “I may be small, but I can grow something great.”

Lesson: Even the smallest faith can grow into something amazing when we care for it.
