Lily and the Light on the Hill

When darkness falls, Lily lights her lantern to guide her neighbors home. Through her kindness, she shows how Jesus’ light lives in all of us.

Lily and the Light on the Hill

(Based on the Gospel of Jesus – Matthew 5:14–16)

In the small town of Brightvale, Lily loved lighting her lantern at night and placing it by the window. “It helps others find their way home,” she said.

One evening, a strong wind knocked out the power in the village. The streets turned dark and quiet, and Lily’s friends felt scared.

But Lily ran to her window, lit her lantern, and placed it high on the windowsill. One by one, other families saw her light and lit their own.

Soon, the whole town shimmered with tiny glowing windows. Laughter returned, and neighbors gathered outside, feeling warm and safe.

The next day, Lily’s teacher shared Jesus’s words: “You are the light of the world. Let your light shine.”

Lesson: Even a small light can brighten the world when shared with love.
